Livingston County - Bridgelink Installations

Project Scope

Livingston County requested the sale and installation of bridge links at three locations, including the removal of equipment and cabling installed next to the administrative office. A drone/ LiDAR survey was conducted to confirm a link is possible between the three locations.

Project Results

WZC started with gathering information and equipment for the install between the three tower locations. The Central Dispatch Tower measures 100 ft high, and Hillcrest Tower is 143.56 ft high. A new tower was installed March 2021 to extend coverage of the approved frequencies being utilized byte municipalities of Livingston County/ Unadilla Township.

To confirm a bridge link connection could be established with no interference, a drone survey using LiDAR was conducted. A drone survey is one of the quickest, simplest ways to survey any location. LiDAR and drone surveying can be used to simulate and show topographic data, which can be used for site surveys and inspections. 

Based on the LiDAR and Drone tests results, the location was viable for a bridge link in the Unadilla Township Hall and/or Police and Fire Department. Based on the information WZC gathered from the LIDAR/ Drone site survey, it was determined that there is a clear line of light from the Central Dispatch Tower to the Hillcrest Tower, continuing to the proposed location of the future bridge link location tower.

Our technicians staged the radios at our headquarters and transported the equipment to the site.  At each tower, radios were installed to the amount and to courthouse. 2 CAT6 cabling was run at the courthouse. The antennas were aligned and tested, and the bridge link was successfully commissioned. Follow up documentation was submitted with screengrabs from the Drone and LiDAR surveys to illustrate the work completed.
