Operations Manager - Novi, MI
The Operations Manager is responsible for production planning, production management, inventory management, quality control, and safety issues, maintenance and replacement of test equipment, and enforcing company policies.
Experience
- Minimum of 6-8 years supervisory experience in a computer networking environment, preferably in electronics system-level manufacturing (integration and test).
- Experience in long-term planning building a network team to support company’s goals
- Proficient with Mavenlink (project management software/procedures).
- Experience in scheduling/prioritizing jobs; coordinating workflow, and employee activities.
- Experience in production principles and functions.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of 10 technicians/engineers.
- Plan and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production activities and motivate the team to accomplish those plans.
- Supervise workflow of orders and paperwork.
- Implement and enforce shop safety and production procedures.
- Ensure shop equipment is properly calibrated, maintained and working properly.
- Manage inventory for production jobs.
- Interact w/ project management on production schedule, delegate tasks and priorities to shop technicians/engineers, monitor production processes, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Identify employee training needs and make recommendations as to employee performance and progress.
- Track production efficiency & on-time delivery.
- Identify areas in need of improvement and recommend changes to policies or processes related to production, inventory control, material and resource control, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Manage Shipping and Receiving.
- Coordinating different teams to foster an exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities
- Analyze departmental budgets to find ways to optimize profitability
- Communicating with stakeholders about shifting company priorities and projects
- Enforcing regulatory and safety standards
- Defining, implementing and revising operational policies
- Developing and executing new growth directives
- Working with the human resources department to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel and oversee employee training programs
- Collaborating with human resources to develop and implement staff evaluation parameters
- Communicating with departmental heads to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide compliance
- Monitoring departmental revenue margins and conducting budget reviews to maximize profits
- Overseeing client support services
- Assist in managing procurement and resource allocation
